Concept: Create a collection of font specimens, for usage in print, with free/libre/open source fonts. Tasks for workshop participants: font selection, classification, study of existing font specimen standards, design of individual font specimens, choice of “boilerplate” text samples from the public domain, layout, choice of licensing, distribution strategy…
Outcome: A digital book, published under a copyleft license, ready for global distribution accross print-on-demand services (Amazon CreateSpace, Google Books, etc). We may also produce manually a few dummy copies for the workshop participants.
